Relationships and Our Service to You – How We Work

Justdriveaway is an insurance intermediary providing access to short-term driveaway motor insurance.

All insurance policies arranged through Justdriveaway are sold on a non-advised basis. This means:

  • We provide information only,
  • We do not give advice or make recommendations,
  • You must decide whether the product meets your own demands and needs.

We may act as an agent of the insurer and/or on behalf of you, the customer. Where we act on your behalf, we have management controls in place to manage any conflicts of interest that may arise.

Unless we tell you otherwise, we are acting on your behalf when arranging insurance.

Information We Need From You

In the case of all insurance, the validity of cover and the amount you pay depends on the information you provide. It's your responsibility to provide complete, accurate, and honest information to use and the insurer at all times, as this forms the basis of the insurance contract. It's important that all the statements you make and all the questions you answer are complete, true, and accurate.

Failure to provide accurate information may result in:

  • A voided policy by the insurer, meaning the insurance policy effectively never existed.
  • Additional premium,
  • Cancellation of the policy,
  • Refusal or reduction of a claim.

We won't be responsible for any loss, damage or otherwise that results from you having not provided complete and accurate information, unless it would be illegal for us to exclude or attempt to exclude our responsibility to you.

Your insurance is a short-term contract. Full details, including start and end times, are provided in your:

  • Policy confirmation
  • Schedule of Insurance
  • Policy Booklet

Policy documents are issued electronically. Please check your email (including spam/junk folders).

Policies of short duration cannot be amended once purchased. You must ensure the product is suitable for your needs before proceeding.

Quotations

We provide access to insured products from one or more insurers. Some products may be offered from a single insurer or a limited panel of insurers. Where applicable, the insurer will be named in your documentation.

All premiums quoted included Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) at the prevailing rate set by HM Government.

Payment Terms – Collection of Premium

Payment must be made in full before cover starts. We accept payment by:

  • Debit card,
  • Credit card,
  • Approved digital payment methods.

No cover is in force until payment has been successfully received. In instances where the premium is paid for by your selling dealer, cover starts immediately when the policy confirmation screen confirms.

Protecting Your Money

Premiums are collected in line with a strict agency agreement known as a Risk Transfer, and when we collect these premiums, we are acting on behalf of the insurer. Under this arrangement, the money you pay us is treated as paid to the insurer.

Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)

You may be entitled to compensation from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) if we are unable to meet our obligations.

For insurance mediation:

  • 90% of a claim is protected with no upper limit,
  • certain compulsory insurances are protected at 100%.

Further information is available at www.fscs.org.uk or by calling 0800 678 1100.

Solvency and Financial Strength

We regularly assess the financial strength of insurers we work with using publicly available information and independent ratings.

While we take reasonable care to work with reputable insurers, we cannot guarantee the solvency or financial performance of any insurer.

Remuneration

We may receive commission from the insurer for arranging your insurance. This commission is typically a percentage of the premium you pay.

In some cases, we may also charge a fee for arranging insurance. Any such fee will be clearly disclosed to you before you decide to proceed.

You may request details of remuneration relating to your policy at any time.

Cancellation and Refunds

Please contact us if you wish to cancel any policy that we have arranged for you.

Cooling-Off Period

Policies are not subject to the 14-day cooling-off period as the duration of our policies is 30 days or less.

You must ensure the product meets your needs before purchase.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

You are entitled to cancel your policy at any time. Due to the short-period nature of this policy, there will be no refund of the premium.

Claims

All claims are handled directly by the insurer.

Claims contact details are provided in your policy documentation and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You must:

  • notify the insurer as soon as possible of any incident,
  • not admit liability,
  • not agree to settle any claim without insurer approval.

Complaints

We aim to provide a high standard of service. If you are dissatisfied, you have the right to complain.

How to Complain

Please contact us:

  • in writing to Moneymaximiser Limited, Suite 4c, Market House, Market Place, Wokingham, Berkshire, RG40 1AP.
  • by e-mail to info@moneymaximiser.co.uk
  • by calling 0118 321 8197

We will:

  • acknowledge your complaint promptly,
  • investigate it fairly,
  • Provide a final response within FCA timeframes.

In the event a complaint remains unresolved after 8 weeks you may be entitled to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS):

Motor Insurance Database (MID)

Due to the short-term nature and structure of this insurance, cover may not appear on the Motor Insurance Database (MID).

This does not mean you are uninsured.

Your policy documents confirm the cover in force.

Fraud Prevention and Data Sharing

Insurers may share information with industry databases for fraud prevention and underwriting purposes.

This may include:

  • The Claims and Underwriting Exchange,
  • anti-fraud databases,
  • the Motor Insurance Database (where applicable).

Credit Searches and Financial Crime

We and/or the insurer may carry out checks to:

  • verify identity,
  • prevent fraud,
  • comply with anti-money laundering regulations,
  • meet legal and regulatory obligations.

These checks may leave a record on your credit file.

Data Protection and Privacy

We process personal data in accordance with UK data protection laws, including the UK GDPR.

Full details of how we collect, use, and share personal data are set out in our Privacy Policy, available on our website.
